The Gold Fields Ghana Foundation frequently engages students on its scholarship programme, providing a safe space for interactions, ensuring their academic activities are on track and offering support when they need it.
During the most recent engagement held in September 2024 at the ABA Clubhouse, the students participated in a workshop on balancing academic and social life, which was facilitated by Prof. Eric Amartey Bruce Jnr., the Dean of Student of the Takoradi Technical University.
Prof. Bruce Jnr. shared lessons on handling coursework, fostering close and respectful relations with lectures and colleagues, as well as preserving general wellbeing.
Final year students also participated in a session that sought to prepare them for their national service, where many new graduates begin their careers.
The students were taught vital skills needed to help them in their personal and professional development, such as CV writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, workplace etiquette, professional networking and public speaking.
There are 628 continuing students on the Foundation’s scholarship programme. The scholarship award covers school fees, accommodation expenses and other approved academic bills. The Foundation has so far awarded scholarships to 2,736 students.
