Gold Fields Ghana Advocates Sustainable Water Practices at World Water Day Policy Dialogue

To mark World Water Day, John Kwasi Adingelah, Senior Manager, Environment and Laboratories of Gold Fields Ghana, participated in a policy dialogue focused on sustainable water management in Ghana.

During the dialogue, John highlighted Gold Fields commitment to reducing freshwater usage and improving access to clean water in host communities.

"Water is a critical resource and our commitment to stringent water management practices reflects our responsibility to the environment and the communities we serve. Through the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, we continue to invest significantly in water projects in Tarkwa and Damang," he stated.

Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, the Deputy Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, reiterated the importance of collective action in addressing water-related challenges. She called for awareness, collaboration and proactive steps to tackle water crisis.

The policy dialogue reaffirmed the role of partnerships and responsible practices in addressing Ghana's water issues and showcased Gold Fields' proactive initiatives in sustainable water management.

Organised by the Centre of Excellence in Public Utility Regulation, the dialogue brought together experts from the Ministry, Water Resources Commission, Civil Society Organisations and academia to discuss sustainable solutions to water conflicts in communities and industries.
